The aspect of my job that always surprises people is… how much goes on behind the scenes to make things happen. We represent a diverse portfolio of girls and are always pushing for different beauty standards. The hardest part of my day is… dealing with the lingering perception in the industry about what models should look like. The best part of my day is… coming into the office and thriving on the energy of the people I work with. I love what I do because… the weeks and months of hard work always pay off in the end when you see one of the girls get their first show. Eleven years and a lot of hard work later, here I am. At the start of my career I was an assistant at 26 I joined IMG as co-director and subsequently moved up to director level. I finished my GCSEs and have stayed in agencies ever since. The people were so creative and I just didn’t want to leave. I got into this industry by… doing work experience at a model agency – I enjoyed it from day one. I loved art and textiles at school so I was always into magazines and photography. When I was a child I wanted to be… working in fashion in one form or another. Bookings can change at the last minute, which means that every day is different. During fashion season, I’ve been out meeting customers, helping to get our talents to and fro, and planning for the season ahead.
